Person A: Egg whites only! Eating lots of whole eggs will ruin your health!
Person B: Eat whole eggs! The fat is good for you! Quit buying egg whites!
I have seen countless posts and discussions on this topic.
I have made a change in the way I eat my eggs, so here are my thoughts on it.
Eat both of them. It’s that simple. The truth usually is found somewhere in the middle. I will take you through my scenario….
I would make my scrambled eggs with somewhere between 4-6 whole eggs. This equals out to 20-30 grams of fat. Through some macronutrient calculations, I found out my daily fat grams should not exceed about 55 grams for the day. If I am starting out with 20-30 grams of fat and it isn’t even noon yet, I better be pretty strict on what other fats go into my body because I could easily go over my fat requirements for the day. Avocados, olive oil, and nuts are a few healthy fats you should be eating, but if you are not aware of the amount of fat you are eating, you can be holding yourself back from progress.
Solution:
A cup of egg whites is about 20 grams of protein. Add two whole eggs to that and it should be about 34 grams of protein with only 10 grams of fat.
Making this simple change has helped me with my progress.
Make the change and enjoy the benefits of both ‘worlds’.
There you have it! Enjoy the weekend!
Be Confident. Be Strong.
